News - New Accreditations 19 January 2007 SELECTA RECOGNISED FOR IMPROVED STANDARDS Leading industry extruder, Selecta Systems has recently been accredited with further BSI accreditations. In line with a commitment to ongoing research and product development the company has attained two new Kitemark standards within production and quality control departments. The company, based in Birmingham, has been awarded BS EN 12608 in relation to the market leading Advance 70 system for windows made from PVC-u extruded hollow profile. This unique five chambered system easily achieved the requirements incorporating Amendment 1 in relation to safety, operation and strength. Weather performance was also a crucial aspect regarding this standard where air permeability, watertightness and wind resistance are all important elements. After rigorous testing and assessment procedures Selecta Systems also gained the BS Kitemark licence for BS 7950 which caters for enhanced security performance of windows and doors for both the domestic and commercial markets. Senior management and all production departments progressed to attain certification in order to ensure that the company's production methods were recognised for only the highest manufacturing standards. To ensure that all required levels in terms of performance and quality could be met the quality management systems were also evaluated along with quality control whilst internal reporting systems were thoroughly checked to ensure they would pass the demanding criterion. Selecta Systems has an on-going programme for product testing to ensure that quality standards in relation to their manufacturing methods are continuously monitored, met and maintained. Mark Richmond comments, "At Selecta we thoroughly support the introduction of quality standards as they substantiate a level of integrity to each and every customer and consequently, our customers recognise that they can rely upon the products and services we provide." He continues, "The new industry standard Kitemarks demonstrates our assurance for customer satisfaction and we perceive that they are a vital element in respect of the continued success of this business." The accreditations are the latest acknowledgement that Selecta Systems is resolved to develop and accommodate industry changes in order to provide only the best quality standards and customer satisfaction. With a progressive approach to product development, extrusion and support services the team at Selecta Systems will continue to cultivate the company in line with the changing needs of the industry.
